Reina consorte de Jorge III de Inglaterra. En 1761 fue escogida como futura esposa sin ser vista personalmente, después de que el rey británico pidió examinar a todas las posibles candidatas entre las princesas alemanas protestantes. El matrimonio fue un éxito y la pareja tuvo 15 hijos, entre ellos Jorge IV. Cuando el rey fue declarado demente (1811), el parlamento puso sus esperanzas en el futuro Jorge IV, mientras que a ella se le encomendó el cuidado de su esposo.
